Gal Oya Lodge is the best accommodation choice for any traveller seeking to visit the beautiful and remote Gal Oya National Park. Set on the edge of a private 20-acre forest next to the park, this boutique hotel is a true nature retreat in an escapist location away from the crowds.
Choose between ten individual bungalows and villas scattered throughout the forest, each characterised by cement floors and glass doors contrasted with timber walls and thatched roofs. Internal décor includes local artwork and furniture crafted by local villagers. All rooms have electricity and complete washroom facilities including a solar-powered hot-water shower.
In addition to an open-sided restaurant-bar serving Western dishes and Sri Lankan rice and curry, Gal Oya Lodge has a swimming pool, library, butterfly garden and an organic vegetable patch. Excursions into the park are conducted in a Land Rover Defender, and guided forest walks are also available.
It should be noted that there is no Wi-Fi at Gal Oya Lodge.
