Domestic flights

For those booked into more far-flung resorts, domestic flights are the best option for your transfer. These planes cover routes to the far corners of the Maldives, ideal for clients travelling to the outer atolls. Unlike the seaplanes, these flights can operate after dark, making them a great alternative air travel option for clients arriving into Malé at night.

The Maldives has 12 airports that service its 20 atolls, 10 of which are solely dedicated to domestic flights. Most domestic flight times are planned around international arrivals to ensure a smooth and swift hotel transfer for tourists. However, clients should be prepared for a one-to-two hour wait.

Clients can find the Domestic Flights Terminal just a two-minute walk away from the Arrivals Hall at Malé International Airport. Advance notice should be given that the luggage limit is a 20kg bag and 5kg carry-on bag per person.

As with the seaplane transfers, shared and private options are available and certain weather conditions can disrupt the timetable.
