Our Guides and Drivers

The primary mode of transport for a Sri Lanka holiday is the car-and-driver. Guests can choose between a car, van, or VITO for their tour, operated by a personal driver who will uphold the highest safety standards at all times. Cars are recommended for a maximum of two travellers. Families and those seeking more space should opt for the VITO, a luxurious vehicle with more legroom that can take up to five passengers. Our air-conditioned vans are available for larger groups, carrying up to seven people.

Our drivers are not only experienced in navigating the island’s roads, but they are also licensed guides in the eyes of the Sri Lanka Tourism Board. This means that they can act as a private guide throughout the trip, both at cultural sites and while on the road. Our chauffeur-guides have excellent English language skills and a deep knowledge of the island’s history and wildlife. Several of our chauffeur-guides are also experts in particular interests such as birdwatching, so do make requests for niche tours.
